The Sydney Metro West project is a new direct, 24 kilometre underground rail connection between the CBDs of Parramatta and Sydney. This once-in-a-century infrastructure investment will transform Sydney for generations to come, doubling rail capacity between the two CBDs, linking new communities to rail services and supporting employment growth and housing supply. The locations of nine proposed metro stations have been confirmed at Westmead, Parramatta, Sydney Olympic Park, North Strathfield, Burwood North, Five Dock, The Bays, Pyrmont and Hunter Street in the Sydney CBD.

Tunnelling work along the line is to be delivered under three packages:

  • Western Tunnelling Package (Westmead to Sydney Olympic Park)
  • Central Tunnelling Package (Sydney Olympic Park to The Bays)
  • Eastern Tunnelling Package (The Bays to Sydney CBD)

°µÍø¸£Àû have been successful with their proposals to supply concrete to manufacture pre cast concrete segments, for all three packages. Purpose-built wet-mix plants are being installed at Eastern Creek to manufacture the highly refined concretes required for the production of the segments used to line the tunnels. °µÍø¸£Àû is partnered with Acconia Ferrovial Joint Venture for the Central Tunnelling package, Gamuda Australia and Laing O’Rourke Consortium for the Western Tunnelling Package and John Holland CPB Contractors Ghella Joint Venture for the Eastern Tunnelling Package.
